"Over the summer the Donegal County Development Board Peace and Reconciliation Board participated in a capacity-building programme. It was an event in Derry that involved the Partnership working with the various participants in the Theatre of Witness programme, walking the walls of Derry and sharing stories of the past that we could all relate to. This was important for the Partnership as they are working to achieve the overall objectives of the PEACE III programme in Co. Donegal. I suppose the Partnership felt that they needed to take a wee bit of time out to reassess the work that we’re doing before we put in the next phase of the PEACE III plan and to gather our thoughts and explore our own attitudes to issues of the past and things that have happened."

Peace III Partnership
The Donegal Peace & Reconciliation Partnership is a sub-structure of the County Development Board. It was established in February 2008 with the specific purpose of delivering theme 1.1 of the Peace Programme in Co. Donegal. The Partnership comprises representatives from local government, local development, local State Agencies and local social partners, thereby maximising input and collaboration from across the county. The Partnership aims to build better communities, to eradicate racism and sectarianism and to build a tolerance and a legacy to allow the citizens of Donegal to move on from the Troubles.
