Teagasc through its Opportunities for Farm Families Programme are helping Farm Families to meet the challenges facing farming in the new millennium. The main objective of this programme is to identify the best opportunities to boost income and improve the quality of life for the farm family.
Rural Tourism is one of a number of options that may contribute to income and employment on a farm, through provision of accommodation, self-catering units, equestrian enterprises and other recreational activities.
Teagasc through its Rural Viability Service offers a range of services to help farmers/rural dwellers develop rural tourism ventures to their full potential.
Services include:

Advice on market opportunities and guidance on the grants available.

Financial advice on costs, marketing, taxation and insurance.
