The Northern Regional Fisheries Boards extends from Mullaghmore Head to Malin Head the Northern Region encompasses some of the most dramatic scenery and productive fisheries in Ireland. It is also home to a significant stretch of the Shannon-Erne Canal, which links the Shannon navigation to the Eniskillen in Northern Ireland. The Regional Fisheries mission statement is as follows:
"To ensure that the valuable natural resources of inland fisheries and sea angling are conserved, managed, developed and promoted in their own right and to support sustainable economic activity, job creation and recreational amenity."
